Pasta (Penne and Spaghetti/Fettuccini)
Pasta holders (e.g., plate and bowl)
Timer
This one is best for teams, but you could do it individually
This can be inside or out, you just need to be able to define a clear start and finish
Split the group in to teams and make the teams line up in a row, have a plate of penne at one end of the row and an empty bowl at the other. Give each person in the row a piece of spaghetti or fettuccini and you are ready to start, which ever team has the most penne in their bowl when the time is up is the winner. When you say go, the person next to the plate of penne will pick up a piece using their piece of spaghetti and transfer it to the spaghetti of the person next to them and so on down the row until the last person drops it in to the bowl. Only spaghetti may touch the penne (except where it touches the fingers holding the spaghetti). Only one piece of penne may be transported at a time. If penne is dropped or spaghetti breaks, it is returned to the plate and the chain restarts with broken spaghetti being replaced.
Scoring is, as always, completely arbitrary, you can award only the winning team, score points per penne, or award points on a sliding scale from winner to loser. Decide how you wish based on the number of players.
Use any long pasta with any tubular pasta, or switch out the long past for coffee stirring sticks, etc. so there is less breaking.
This can be a race to move all the pasta on the plate rather than as much as you can in a set time.
