This one is best for teams of two, but you could do it individually
This one is for outside
This one needs a course, the best place is the road if you live in a quiet area, it's pretty easy to clear off the road if a car comes. You could also go around the outside of a house or create the course in a garden or park. Make use of whatever space you have. I chalk a start/finish line outside the house and play around the block.
From the start line one of each team will make a paper airplane and launch them at the same time. If, after the throw, your team is in last place you can swap planes with someone else (not positions, just the planes). From where it lands the second team members will all throw their marshmallows at the same time. Planes and Mallows will continue to alternate until teams have made it all the way around the block and one team has made it back over the start line (or to the finish line, depending on how your course is designed). All throws are at the same time, it is a race of fewest throws.
Teams can switch who does what after each marshmallow throw. If on any marshmallow throw you get within a meter of the Magnificent Cone of Glory, you can switch your Marshmallow's place with anyone else's. The cone is positioned pre-marshmallow throw using the Game Master's great and unchallengable wisdom.
Scoring is, as always, completely arbitrary, you can award only the winner, or award points on a sliding scale from winning to losing team. Decide how you wish based on the number of players.
The swapping of planes rule takes away any advantage of the great plane folders, but you don't have to use it. I like to punish the capable. The Magnificent Cone of Glory makes the whole race unpredictable, but if you want it to be les punishing you can change it to join any marshmallow rather than switch with them. Obviously it doesn't have to be a cone, my kids play a lot of soccer so I have them in the house, but you can use anything. You can remove either of these rules, or just use them in a second race, it's entirely up to you.
You can also switch the planes and marshmallows for anything you want. Dollar store gliders, frisbies, etc.Â
